A strategic investment aimed at strengthening Libya's water resource management infrastructure. The Abu Shaybah and Al Rumman dams are being constructed in the Wadi Ka'am basin for water harvesting and flood control. The area is underlain by Triassic-age Abu Shaybah Formation sandstones, making dam body construction technically demanding and requiring specialized engineering expertise.
